King Charles has begun his summer holiday in Scotland at the Castle and Gardens of Mey.
The estate shared a photo of the monarch on Instagram, saying he planted “The King’s Rose” in the Diamond Jubilee Rose Garden to mark the start of his summer break.
The Castle and Gardens of Mey was once owned by his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.
Purchased by Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother in 1952, the property is located in Caithness and is now managed by The King’s Foundation, King Charles’ charity focused on nature and sustainability.
In the photo shared by the estate, King Charles is wearing a traditional Scottish kilt.
The Instagram post did not say whether Queen Camilla had also joined King Charles for his summer holiday in Scotland.
