Sombr brings out 5 Seconds of Summer for surprise Lollapalooza performance in Chicago
The Australian band joined Sombr to perform their hit ‘She Looks So Perfect’, drawing a huge response from the crowd
Sombr delivered one of the standout moments of the opening day of Lollapalooza 2026 by bringing 5 Seconds of Summer on stage for a surprise performance during his set in Chicago on Thursday night.
The unexpected collaboration saw the Australian band join Sombr to perform their hit “She Looks So Perfect”, drawing a huge response from the festival crowd.
Before introducing the group, Sombr addressed the audience, saying, “Chicago, you ready for a special surprise? Ladies and gentleman, the greatest band in the fucking world, 5 Seconds of Summer.”
The performance capped an energetic set in which Sombr arrived on stage in a car from backstage before making full use of the main stage, which featured New York-inspired street signs and construction-themed props.
The singer later entered the crowd carrying a black flag spray-painted with his name and the Lollapalooza logo.
Sombr also performed several recent releases, including “My Body Isn’t Ready”, “Potential” and “Homewrecker”.
The appearance continues a breakthrough year for Sombr following the release of his debut album, I Barely Knew Her, last August, as well as high-profile performances at the Grammy Awards and Coachella earlier this year.
Following Lollapalooza, Sombr is scheduled to begin a North American tour this autumn, concluding with a hometown performance at Madison Square Garden in New York on November 23.
