Gracie Abrams’ Instagram post after Taylor Swift’s wedding raises eyebrows with cryptic Joe Alwyn reference

Gracie Abrams has prompted discussion among Taylor Swift fans after sharing an Instagram post that included a screenshot featuring Swift’s former partner, Joe Alwyn, alongside photographs of the outfit she wore to Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding.
Abrams shared a carousel of images on Instagram on Sunday, including photographs of herself wearing a red sequinned gown and a close-up of the dress.
The post also featured childhood photographs, artistic images of her album covers and a still from the 2018 film The Favourite showing Alwyn and Emma Stone in a scene from the film.
The screenshot, which showed Stone’s character Abigail Hill attacking Alwyn’s character Samuel Masham in the woods, appeared without any explanation.
Although Alwyn’s face was not visible, fans quickly noticed the reference because of his past relationship with Swift.
Abrams did not mention Swift and Kelce’s wedding in the post, but the dress matched the one she wore while leaving the couple’s ceremony at Madison Square Garden.
Several fans questioned the inclusion of the film still in the comments, with one writing it was “crazyyyyy”, while another described it as “weird”. A third commented, “Not congratulating Taylor – but posting her ex?”
Swift and Alwyn were in a relationship from 2016 until 2023
Abrams was among the guests at Swift and Kelce’s wedding. She previously supported Swift on The Eras Tour in 2023 and 2024, and the pair collaborated on the 2024 song “Us.”
