Vivo has introduced a new pair of affordable wireless earbuds in China called the Vivo TWS 5e. The earbuds were launched alongside the Vivo S60 series and bring improvements in active noise cancellation and battery life compared to the previous Vivo TWS 3e.
The Vivo TWS 5e features a familiar stem-style design with silicone ear tips and rounded outer shells. Each earbud weighs 4.3 grams and comes with an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance.
One of the biggest upgrades is noise cancellation. Vivo says the TWS 5e supports up to 55dB hybrid adaptive active noise cancellation, a significant improvement over the 30dB ANC offered by the Vivo TWS 3e. The earbuds also feature dual microphones with AI-powered call noise reduction.
Vivo has added several smart features, including AI smart broadcast, instant pairing when the charging case is opened, and real-time translation support.
The earbuds are equipped with 11mm dynamic drivers and support AAC, SBC and LC3 audio codecs. They also include Vivo’s DeepX 3.0 stereo sound effects and spatial audio technology, which are designed to enhance the listening experience for music, movies and gaming.
Connectivity has been upgraded to Bluetooth 5.4 from Bluetooth 5.3. The earbuds support dual-device connection and offer a wireless range of up to 10 meters. Vivo also claims ultra-low latency of just 42 milliseconds.
According to the company, the Vivo TWS 5e can provide up to 13 hours of playback on a single charge, while the charging case extends total battery life to as much as 55 hours. The earbuds are charged through a USB Type-C port.
The Vivo TWS 5e is priced at $32 and is available in white, black and sky blue color options. The earbuds are currently available only in China, although they are expected to launch in other markets in the future.
