Who is Vasana Montgomery? ‘Love Island USA’ contestant removed ahead of premiere for using racial slur

Montgomery is no longer a season 8 contestant after videos surfaced showing her using the N-word

Love Island USA Season 8 contestant Vasana Montgomery was removed from the cast of season eight just days before the programme’s premiere after videos surfaced online allegedly showing her using the N-word.

According to reports, Montgomery was dropped from the cast following the emergence of two videos that prompted widespread criticism on social media. The videos appeared to have been privately held and were not publicly available during the show’s vetting process.

Montgomery, from Beaverton, Oregon, is the owner of Vanity Square Studios, a beauty salon in Salem. She launched her first business in 2020, following her graduation from Spectrum Advanced Esthetics in 2019 as a two-time honour roll student.

She later attended tattoo school before opening Vanity Square Studios, which offers services including permanent makeup, facials, lash extensions, bridal makeup, tattoos and professional lash training.

In 2025, her business won Best of the Willamette Valley. Montgomery has also built a following online through her TikTok account, “Vasanaeats”, where she reviews restaurants and shares food-related content. Her Instagram account is listed as @vasana_vibes.

It remains unclear whether she had already entered the villa and begun filming before her removal.

The incident follows similar controversies during season seven of the reality dating series, when contestants Yulissa Escobar and Cierra Ortega were removed after past use of racial slurs came to light.

Love Island USA Season 8 is scheduled to premiere on Peacock on Tuesday.
