President Asif Zardari expresses deep sorrow over deadly coal mine explosion in China

ISLAMABAD: President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has expressed deep sorrow over the deadly coal mine explosion in China’s Shanxi province that killed many workers and injured several others. He shared his heartfelt condolences with Xi Jinping, the grieving families, and the people of China after the tragic incident.

President Zardari said that the people of Pakistan stand with their Chinese brothers and sisters during this painful time. He also prayed for the injured miners and wished them a quick recovery.

In addition, he hoped that rescue teams would successfully save the workers still trapped inside the mine. The President also praised the rescue and emergency teams for their fast response after the disaster.

The explosion is being described as one of China’s deadliest mining accidents in recent years. The blast happened on Friday evening at the Liushenyu Coal Mine in northern China’s Shanxi province.

According to Chinese state media, 247 workers were inside the mine when a powerful gas explosion took place.

Rescue workers managed to save more than 100 miners soon after the incident. However, at least 90 people lost their lives in the disaster.

Emergency teams are still searching underground for survivors. China’s Ministry of Emergency Management has sent 345 rescue workers from six different teams to continue the operation.

Meanwhile, several injured miners are receiving treatment in hospital. Reports say 27 people are under medical care, while one miner remains in critical condition.

President Xi Jinping has ordered authorities to do everything possible to rescue survivors and help the injured. He also called for a full investigation into the cause of the explosion and promised strict action against anyone found responsible.
