Pakistani community in UK pays glowing tributes to armed forces, political leadership and nation
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom commemorated the 1st anniversary of Marka-e-Haq at a ceremony held in London on Friday.
The event was attended by British parliamentarians, Pakistan-origin councillors, businessmen, officers of the high commission, media representatives and a large number of prominent members of the Pakistani diaspora in the UK.
The term “Marka-e-Haq” refers to the 2025 conflict with India, which began with the April 22 Pahalgam attack and concluded with a ceasefire on May 10 following Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.
According to a statement issued today, Pakistan’s Acting High Commissioner to the UK Haseeb bin Aziz stated that the “gathering paid the highest tribute to Pakistan’s heroic armed forces; its fearless soldiers, sailors and airmen, who stood as an iron shield in defence of the sacred land”.
He further said that with “unmatched courage, unwavering resolve and exemplary professionalism”, Pakistan’s military had “upheld the dignity and honour” of the flag.

He said that during Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, the military’s response was “swift, decisive and precise”, demonstrating a “level of operational excellence that earned recognition across the world”.
Aziz also appreciated the Pakistani diaspora in the UK, saying they had stood as “true ambassadors of Pakistan by defending the homeland with conviction and demonstrating unwavering solidarity”.

Defence and Naval Adviser Commodore Jawad Khawaja, and Army and Air Adviser Colonel Mohsin Waqar, in their remarks, stated that Pakistan’s defence forces, in “exemplary unison, thwarted nefarious designs of the enemy and protected the sovereignty” of the country.
The statement further stated that Minister (Press) Mr Ali Nawaz Malik briefed the audience about effective measures taken by the Pakistan High Commission in keeping the British media informed during Marka-e-Haq and presenting the country’s “firm and principled stance to counter the false narrative” propagated by India through the media.
Representatives of the Pakistani community in the UK paid tributes to the armed forces, political leadership and the entire nation, who stood “resolute and united” during Marka-e-Haq.
The gathering’s members pledged that Marka-e-Haq would continue to unite the nation towards building a stronger and more resilient Pakistan, the statement concluded.
