Hyderabad Kingsmen, Islamabad United battle for PSL 11 final spot

The high-stakes clash will determine which team advances to the final, making it a do-or-die encounter.

LAHORE: The second eliminator of the Pakistan Super League Season 11 will be played today, with Hyderabad Kingsmen taking on Islamabad United at Gaddafi Stadium.

The high-stakes clash will determine which team advances to the final, making it a do-or-die encounter where both sides will rely heavily on their key performers.

Islamabad United boasts a strong batting lineup, with Sameer Minhas showing impressive form. The team also features international stars such as Devon Conway, Mark Chapman, Shadab Khan, and Imad Wasim, making them a formidable unit.

On the other hand, Hyderabad Kingsmen playing their debut PSL season have shown remarkable resilience after a shaky start.

Their squad includes in-form players like Usman Khan, Marnus Labuschagne, Maaz Sadaqat, and Glenn Maxwell. In bowling, Muhammad Ali and Hunain Shah could prove to be decisive weapons.

Islamabad United, led by Shadab Khan, failed to impress in the qualifier and suffered a 70-run defeat against Peshawar Zalmi, captained by Babar Azam.

However, they now have another opportunity to reach the PSL final for the fourth time.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad Kingsmen have made a strong comeback after early losses, knocking out Multan Sultans in the first eliminator to stay alive in the tournament.

In the league stage, both teams faced each other twice and secured one win each, setting up an evenly poised contest.

The winner of today’s match will face Peshawar Zalmi in the grand final on Sunday, May 3, at the same venue, where the PSL 11 trophy will be up for grabs.
