President Trump warns Iran against using pressure tactics on US

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump took a firm stance on Iran, stating that Tehran cannot “blackmail” the United States and that Washington has maintained a tough position in ongoing negotiations.

He added that talks with Iran are progressing positively but expressed concern that Iran may be considering closing the Strait of Hormuz again, signaling potential risks to regional stability.

Donald Trump, speaking at a White House ceremony marking the signing of an executive order, said that while people often call him “great,” he considers himself “the greatest.”

He signed an executive order related to medical research during a ceremony at the White House, followed by a media briefing alongside senior officials.

Speaking to reporters, President Trump announced reforms aimed at improving drug-based medical research and expanding access to treatment.

He claimed that drug prices in the United States have been reduced by 50 to 80 percent and emphasized ongoing efforts to bring improvements in the healthcare sector.

The US president also highlighted progress in curbing drug trafficking, stating that actions against smugglers are continuing across the country.

Trump further revealed that $50 million is being invested in research on Ibogaine, a substance being studied for potential medical use.
