For Britney Spears, seeking treatment at a facility right after her DUI arrest felt the “best” step “moving forward.”
The 44-year-old singer, who has been to rehab or treatment facilities multiple times in the past, voluntarily checked herself into a rehab on Sunday, her representative confirmed to E! News.
A source told People that following her March arrest for driving under the influence, “people close to Britney encouraged her to seek treatment.”
Britney “understands the seriousness of her situation,” the insider claimed, adding, “and (she) felt this was the best step moving forward.”
“She’s now seeking treatment,” the tattler further noted.
Back in March, a spokesperson said in a statement that her arrest was an “unfortunate incident,” and “completely inexcusable.”
“Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in a long-overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time,” the statement continued.
“Her boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well-being,” the representative added at the time.
