Speaker of the Parliament of Iran Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has released his first official statement since the negotiations with the US in Islamabad ended without agreement.
Ghalibaf posted a series of tweets on X (previously Twitter), sharing that he showed good faith and will before entering marathon negotiations with the US, “but due to the experiences of the two previous wars, we have no trust in the opposing side”.
He added, “My colleagues on the Iranian delegation Minaab168 raised forward-looking initiatives, but the opposing side ultimately failed to gain the trust of the Iranian delegation in this round of negotiations.”
The parliamentarian quipped that America will “decide whether it can earn our trust or not?” as it is now well aware of Iran’s “logic and principles.”
“We consider every mirror to be another method of authority diplomacy, alongside military struggle, for upholding the rights of the Iranian nation, and we will not for a moment cease our efforts to consolidate the achievements of the forty days of Iran’s national defense,” Ghalibaf said.
