Iranian President backs delegation in Islamabad peace talks

President Pezeshkian stressed that the delegation will not compromise on Iran’s core national interests.

TEHRAN: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has issued a strong statement regarding the ongoing peace negotiations in Islamabad, emphasizing full support for Iran’s delegation engaged in the talks.

In a post shared on the social media platform X, President Pezeshkian said that Iran’s negotiating team is firmly defending national interests and will continue discussions with courage and determination.

He stressed that the delegation will not compromise on Iran’s core national interests during the negotiations taking place in Islamabad.

The Iranian president further stated that the mission of serving the people will continue regardless of the outcome of the talks, adding that the government stands with its citizens under all circumstances.

He also expressed full confidence in the negotiating team currently in Pakistan, reiterating Iran’s commitment to safeguarding national dignity and security.

The US–Iran peace talks are currently underway in Islamabad, where Pakistan is playing a mediatory role in facilitating dialogue between the two sides.
