Younis Khan likely to take key role in PCB

LAHORE: Former Pakistan captain Younis Khan is likely to be entrusted with a key role in the Pakistan Cricket Board as part of efforts to improve the country’s cricket structure.

Sources say the legendary batter has expressed willingness to contribute to the development of cricket after being approached by the board.

His name is also under consideration for the position of Director Domestic in the PCB.

Following the example of Sarfraz Ahmed and Misbah-ul-Haq, the board is keen to utilize Younis Khan’s experience to strengthen cricketing affairs.

Younis Khan, who scored over 10,000 runs in 118 Test matches, also represented Pakistan national cricket team in 265 ODIs and 25 T20Is. He has previously served as a coach of the national side as well.

PCB officials reportedly contacted him a few days ago, and he has shown his availability for the role. If discussions are finalized, his formal appointment will be announced following approval from PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.
