A day earlier, Tiger Woods’ car accident, followed by his arrest over suspicion of driving under the influence, sparked global headlines.
The arrest of the 15-time major gold champ caused a concern among his massive fanbase and close peers and pals.
Kevin Kisner, the golf icon’s teammate, is one of them who has expressed his concern for the sports giant.
In a chat with NBC, the 42-year-old spoke his heart out over the incident, sharing that Wood had been for a while training hard for a comeback in the U.S. Senior Open and possibly later in The Masters.
However, now the dream of making a splashy return is, at best, shaken.
“Very disturbing,” the star says, adding, “He was really working hard on his game, trying to practise and get back in shape. He signed up for the U.S. Senior Open yesterday.”
“He was trying to do anything he could to come back and try and help our TGL team get ready and hopefully try and play the Masters.”
“It’s just a really unfortunate incident, I guess, Brad; the only positive is that nobody was injured in the incident and we can all move forward and hopefully help him get better.”
Kisner and Woods played under Jupiter Links – a golf club founded by the latter – in the TGL finals three days before the accident.
Meanwhile, the shocking car crash happened on Florida Road as Woods allegedly was driving erratically moments before his vehicle clipped another, sending his SUV to roll over.
Luckily, Woods remains unhurt. But after the heart-stopping moment, cops arrived at the scene and asked for a urine test – to ascertain whether he was under any substance influence – which the golf icon twice refused.
This led the authorities to handcuff him, suspecting he may be driving under the influence, and also charged him for property damage and refusal to obey authority.
