Leaders honors founding fathers, celebrate nation’s defence and development milestones

Karachi: On the occasion of the 86th Pakistan Day, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended warm congratulations to the nation, reflecting on Pakistan’s historic legacy and its contemporary accomplishments.

In his message, President Zardari emphasised that Pakistan has made remarkable strides in the realms of defence, national stability, and socio-economic development.

He highlighted the establishment of strong state institutions and the fortification of the country’s defensive capabilities, including nuclear deterrence, which has safeguarded the nation’s sovereignty.

He also praised Pakistan’s sustained and successful fight against terrorism, alongside the nation’s exemplary resilience and spirit of cooperation during natural disasters.

The President observed that throughout pivotal moments in history, Pakistan confronted external aggression with unwavering courage, delivering lessons that would resonate for generations. He acknowledged that the country continues to face challenges on both domestic and international fronts.

Referring to military operations such as Operation Zarb-e-Azb, he noted their decisive outcomes and the clear message they conveyed to illegal elements across the region.

Highlighting the historic significance of 23 March, President Zardari recalled that it was on this day that the Lahore Resolution was passed, laying the foundation for an independent homeland where Muslims could live freely in accordance with Islamic principles.

He paid tribute to the sacrifices of the nation’s founding fathers, stressing that Pakistan overcame immense challenges in 1947 through unity, diligence, and collective resolve, achieving notable progress across multiple sectors. He underscored that national cohesion and determination remain crucial for transforming aspirations into reality.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Message:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the nation, noting that Pakistan has advanced steadily despite numerous challenges.

He highlighted improvements such as reduced inflation, enhanced investor confidence, and positive economic indicators as evidence that the country is on a trajectory of sustainable growth.

According to the Prime Minister, these achievements reflect the capabilities of the Pakistani people and their confidence in a prosperous future.

He lauded the nation’s security forces for safeguarding the country’s sovereignty with patriotism and dedication, noting that Pakistan’s armed forces have historically countered external threats and preserved the nation’s independence.

He reiterated that operations like Zarb-e-Azb were not only military initiatives but also symbols of national resolve against terrorism.

Reflecting on the historic significance of Pakistan Day, Prime Minister Sharif recalled the unity of Muslims in establishing an independent state.

He cited Allama Iqbal’s vision of a state ensuring constitutional and political rights for Muslims, emphasising that Pakistan was secured on 14 August 1947 through immense sacrifice and resilience.

He highlighted the extraordinary courage and unity demonstrated by the nation, from its nascent stages to achieving nuclear capability, underlining the steadfast commitment of Pakistanis to their homeland.

Concluding his message, the Prime Minister stressed that Pakistan’s prosperous future depends on sustained diligence, collaboration, and strategic planning, adding that the national economy has been set firmly on a path toward sustainable development and long-term growth.
