Kerosene price increases by Rs70 in Pakistan

The price of kerosene has increased again in Pakistan after the government raised it by Rs70.73 per litre. According to an official notification, the new price of kerosene is now Rs428.74 per litre and it has come into effect from today. Earlier, the price of kerosene was Rs358.01 per litre.

At the same time, another notification confirmed that the prices of other petroleum products will remain unchanged. The Petroleum Division said that petrol will continue to be sold at Rs321.17 per litre, while diesel will remain at Rs335.86 per litre.

The division also said that the decision to keep petrol and diesel prices unchanged was taken even though prices have increased in the global market. The government will cover the price difference for oil companies.

According to the notification, Rs176.41 per litre will be paid for high-speed diesel and Rs77.98 per litre for petrol.

In his address to the nation, Shehbaz Sharif said the government understands the burden on the public caused by the recent Rs55 per litre increase in petrol prices. He added that the government will bear the financial impact of about Rs24 billion due to the increase in petroleum product prices.
