
DERA GHAZI KHAN: Five terrorists were killed in a joint operation conducted by Punjab Police and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) during a fierce encounter near the Punjab–Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border in the Taunsa region.
According to police officials, the terrorists opened fire on the forces, prompting a retaliatory response that resulted in all five militants being neutralized on the spot.
Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz praised the efforts of Punjab Police and CTD, commending their bravery and swift action in eliminating the threat.
She commended Punjab Police and the CTD for killing five terrorists in Taunsa, saying they are “worthy of praise for sending the terrorists to hell.”
She reaffirmed the government’s firm resolve to continue the pursuit of terrorists, stating, “The chase will go on until every enemy plot is crushed to dust.”
The chief minister emphasized that such operations will persist until complete peace and security are restored across the province.
Earlier, in a successful intelligence-based operation, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) killed three wanted militants near the Bhattani Canal in Sarai Naurang area.
According to CTD officials, the slain militants were affiliated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and were involved in multiple acts of terrorism.
The CTD said the dead terrorists were wanted in attacks on police and law enforcement personnel, 4 hand grenades, Kalashnikovs, cartridges and 2 mobile phones were recovered from the terrorists.
