Buzz is that after over a year of their engagement, Amazon founder and one of the richest persons in the world, Jeff Bezos and his longtime girlfriend Lauren Sanchez are all set to marry this December. The US Sun reported that Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez are preparing for a wedding in Aspen this Christmas which will be attended by A-lister celebrities.
While Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez haven’t confirmed the news yet, their winter weddings seem to be on the cards. The duo made their relationship public in 2019 and got engaged in May 2023. Here’s their love story and a timeline of their relationship.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez are gearing up for an extravagant winter wedding in Aspen this Christmas. The billionaire couple, known for their lavish lifestyle, are planning a celebrity-filled affair complete with a winter wonderland theme. Their union, delayed only by lawyers, promises to be the event of the season.

Rumours of billionaire Jeff Bezos and journalist-author Lauren Sanchez getting close to each other started spreading in October 2018, when they were spotted together enjoying a romantic helicopter ride together in California. Back then, Jeff was still married to MacKenzie Scott, an American novelist and philanthropist. Jeff and MacKenzie were married for 25 years and they have four children together. Meanwhile, Lauren Sanchez too was going through a divorce with Patrick Whitesell, whom she was married to for 13 years and had two children with. Lauren was earlier also married to Tony Gonzalez, with whom she has a son Nikko Gonzalez.
Two months later, Jeff Bezos and MacKenzie Scott announced their separation in a joint statement which was posted on X (then known as Twitter).
By January 2019, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez made their relationship public. The new couple were often spotted together at various events and soon they moved in together. By 2021, when the COVID-19 pandemic struck the world, Bezos and Sánchez started focusing more on their philanthropic work together. However, even before the pandemic, the couple had begun philanthropy. In fact, ‘One of the last meetings they attended together before the lockdown was in Paris, where they met with French President Emmanuel Macron to talk about climate and sustainability related to Bezos’ Earth Fund,’ reads a report by PEOPLE.
Over the years, their relationship grew stronger. However, it was only four years after they made their relationship public, that Lauren Sanchez spoke about dating Jeff Bezos in an interview. “We love to be together and we love to work together. We fly together. We work out together. We’re together all the time,” Lauren told WSJ Magazine. She even revealed that Jeff Bezos has a lesser-known goofy side to him. “He’s really funny. He makes me laugh all the time. He can be goofy,” she had said.
In another interview with PEOPLE, Lauren shared that the couple liked spending quality time at home together. “My favourite time is when the house is calm and quiet and Jeff and I are deciding what show we’re going to binge that night,” Sánchez said.
In May 2023, the couple was spotted sailing in Bezos’ million-dollars yacht, named Koru, in the South of France. Later, it was reported that Jeff Bezos had proposed to Lauren Sanchez and the couple were engaged. This was followed by their private engagement party which they hosted on Bezos’ yacht in Italy’s Amalfi Coast. It was attended by Bill Gates and Paula Hurd, his girlfriend.
Now, over a year later, buzz is that Jeff Bezos, 60, and Lauren Sanchez, 54, are all set to have a grand Christmas wedding. In a recent interview with Today, when asked about her wedding plans, Lauren Sanchez said, “I have to say, I do have a Pinterest — I’m just like every other bride, so I do have a Pinterest board.”
Talking about getting married in her 50s, Lauren said, “I never thought at 54 — I’m going to be 55 (on December 19)— that I was going to be an author, that I’d be getting married. I mean, life is just beginning… When I was 20, I thought, ‘Oh my gosh, life is over at 50.’ Let me tell you, it is not, ladies. It is not over. It is just beginning. It just gets better and better. And I always say, when women are like, ‘Oh, what is it I like turning 50?’ It’s just the beginning.”
