
Over 55,000 animals arrive at Cattle Market as Eid approaches
KARACHI: The number of sacrificial animals at the Northern Bypass Cattle Friendly Market in Karachi has exceeded 55,000, marking a major surge in activity as Eid-ul-Adha approaches.
According to market officials, the arrival of animals continues day and night, with small and large trailers bringing livestock from across the country.
The citizens are showing deep interest in purchasing healthy and beautiful animals, which is also pleasing traders who have traveled from Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and interior Sindh.
The VIP and VVIP blocks of the market are already packed, while transactions in the General Block is increasing rapidly.
The buyers can be seen bargaining confidently and returning home satisfied with their purchases. Many shoppers have expressed contentment with the market prices, especially in the General Block, where animal prices are reportedly more reasonable.
Speaking to the media, Cattle Market Administrator Faisal Ali said; “We’ve seen a clear upward trend in livestock purchases this year. To facilitate both traders and buyers, we’ve arranged 24/7 mobile banking services right outside the Administration Block.”
He further added: “Karachi’s enthusiastic citizens are not only buying sacrificial animals but also enjoying delicious food at the food street, where leading food chains have set up stalls. The lively environment continues late into the night.”
The Cattle Market has become not just a trading hub, but also a nighttime attraction for families, combining traditional Eid preparations with modern convenience and entertainment.
