LAHORE:
PTI Patron-in-Chief Imran Khan’s nephew Hassaan Khan Niazi on Wednesday challenged in the LHC his detention by the military, the court martial proceedings conducted against him, and the jurisdiction of the military court.
In 2023, Niazi was placed under military custody to face trial for his alleged role in the May 9 riots at Lahore’s Jinnah House. In December, he was handed a 10-year sentence of rigorous imprisonment.
On Wednesday, Niazi petitioned the LHC through his counsel Faisal Siddiqui arguing that following his arrest in the May 9 case, he was never produced before a civilian court.
